The Level 1 Insurance program has been designed by experts to help you pass your exam with ease, and build an insurance practice with a high level of knowledge and competence. 

The course was created in accordance with the curriculum designed by the Alberta Insurance Council. By the end of the program, you will have gained in-depth knowledge and practical skills required to excel in areas such as agency and industry knowledge, auto insurance, travel insurance, property insurance, liability insurance, commercial insurance, crime and business interruption, as well as ethics and professionalism.

All registrants must have a Canadian Insurance Participant Registry number to enrol in this course. You can get yours here.  

Please note: Students will have 6 months from the date of purchase to complete the course. A reminder of the expiry will be sent to the email provided by the student. 

Steps to Certification

To become a licensed insurance professional in Alberta, there are five steps to follow. Taking this course is the second step in the process; first, you must secure your registration number from CIPR. Someone from the BCC team will confirm your registration number before you begin the course. 

  1. Get a registration number from the Canadian Insurance Participant Registry
  2. Take the course
  3. Complete all knowledge checks, and the final exam
  4. Complete your provincial licensing exam
  5. Apply for your license(s)
