The Chartered Life Underwriter® designation indicates a competence in wealth transfer and estate planning. Courses are offered at Business Career College under agreement with Advocis®.
The CLU® designation provides the education needed to differentiate one's practice in complex wealth and estate-transfer markets placing designation-holders in the unique position of helping Canadians build and preserve wealth. The CLU designation is recognized as elite in the financial services industry and is respected by clients and financial practitioners alike.
The CLU® Designation Program consists of two required components.
1. Prerequisite Courses
The Prerequisite Courses are the same as the Core Curriculum (CFP® Certification Education Program).
The Prerequisite is waived for candidates who have completed their CFP® designation or an approved accounting designation.
2. CLU® Education Program
Successful completion of the Prerequisite or an appropriate designation is required to start the education program.
The courses focus on taxation, law and estate planning. Taught by live webinar, the courses feature online quizzes and exams. Course 257 requires the completion of two assignments and an Advocis proctored exam. Course 257 exam is cumulative, testing information from Course 231 through 257.
