The Child and Youth Care Worker
Diploma Program is designed to
prepare graduates for careers in
working with children and youth
in settings such as group homes,
Youth Assessment Centres, Young
Offenders Centres, foster homes
and community services providers
for troubled youth.
The program objectives are:
• To build a group of skill sets
that will allow for effective
interaction with both
individuals and groups in a
therapeutic setting
• To develop skills to handle
crisis situations such as
violent behaviors and suicidal
behaviors
